The Compact Prime CP.2 lenses are the latest members of
the ZEISS family of lenses for digital and film cameras. This
second generation of the Compact Prime lenses now delivers
even greater flexibility by introducing interchangeable
mounts that allow the lenses to be used with a wide range
of cameras from traditional cine to HDSLR systems.

The lenses come with the Canon EOS mount as standard but we can provide the lens set with a PL Mount if required.

Lens Set includes 21mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm.

We’ve taken delivery of the much talked about and very en-vogue Digital Stills Camera, the Canon 5D MkII.

We’ve spent a long time doing our research in putting a complete package together for Photographers and Movie Makers addressing all of the mounting, focus, lighting and rigging issues that have frustrated them in the past with this camera.

Rich DOP's New Music Video

Rich was asked to DOP two music videos for the Proclaimers forthcoming New Album ‘Notes & Rhymes.

You can watch the official video for the first single from the album opposite. Directed by Phil Clyde-Smith and Andy Hui. Produced by Phil Tidy.

It was a pretty full on day using a mixture of digital stills cameras and High Definition but with the support from all the crew we knuckled down and got what we needed for both videos.

ipf have just taken delivery of some new toys including the eefx Chroma Key Green Screen (10’ x 8’) and three Arri 575w HMi Compact Units.

The fabric material has a very unique surface that elimates glare and diffuses light for an evenly lit surface. In addition, the foam -backed material has a foam core that elimates wrinkles and a nylon back for added strength, making it the #1 choice by special effects artists in the film industry.

Rich jumped at the chance when asked by Universal Music to take his place ‘front & centre stage’ at the Playhouse Theater (Edinburgh) to DOP and fly the steadicam on a 3 Camera HD Shoot for a Promotional Press Pack for the touring Stage Show “Dreamboats & Petticoats”. Who says “men can’t multi-task”

For the second year in a row Rich has been the successful Cinematographer for the 'Best DVD' at the Communication in Business (CiB) Scotland awards. The winning entry was produced by 20/20 productions on behalf of the Children's Hospice Associations Scotland (CHAS) and featured Hollywood star Ewan McGregor.

Back to school

I decided to go “back to school” this month and booked myself onto the National Film and Television Schools - Cinematography Masterclass. It was a pretty ‘full-on’ week, 7 days of pure joy and hell, and some very late nights in the bar...(don’t ask!).
The workshop had a great mix of participants, all of which I’ve stayed in touch with. We had an excellent opportunity to work with Kodak’s latest film stock - Vision 3 (5219) which was a real eye opener, (although my heart’s still with Fuji) and we also had the chance to compare some very nice Canon HD Primes against Zeiss’s Digi Primes. All in all, I left the Masterclass with a real fire in my belly wanting more. Why can’t we shoot more film......why?

RIP Aston Martin

I thought it was time to re-style the front end of my beloved Aston Martin DB7 Vantage GT, of which there were only 112, now 111. Unfortunately it didn’t work out all that well and the 10ft stone wall that I tried to use (at 70 mph) is much better off than the car....bugger. I’m fine and dandy AND still have all 13 fingers and 13 toes but she will be sadly missed....RIP my beloved.
